Good morning everyone,

Over the weekend, we experienced a technical issue that prevented users from logging into the AgingCare site. The issue was fixed, but some users did not regain access immediately. Our development team did a sweep for affected users yesterday and restored their access.

If you were having issues logging in, a simple password reset will get you back into your account.

Some profile pages were showing 404 errors as part of this issue. These profile pages have been restored.
If you have further issues with seeing your profile page or logging into your account, please use the “Send Us a Message” form on this page to let us know: agingcare.com/aboutus

Updates on other fixes:
Our automatic spam blocker has been extra sensitive as of late and some users have been incorrectly blocked from posting. A fix for this is being coded and should be ready in approximately 2 weeks (allow a few extra days for testing and troubleshooting). If you feel you’ve been blocked in error, please use the “Send Us a Message” form on this page to let us know: agingcare.com/aboutus.

Message deletion is down on profile pages. A fix for this will be coded after the work on the spam blocker.

Additionally, our roadmap for the future includes building a messaging "block" feature, to stop messages from people you don't want to hear from.
In the meantime, you can hide the public messages other users have left on your wall by going to agingcare.com/profile/privacy and turning off “Show Public Messages” in your privacy settings.

We appreciate your patience, and the support you show one another on AgingCare.

Thx Way. I looked on line how to disable it and followed the instructions to hide and it is hidden, but it isn't disabled so I still get get these annoying sounds. I've hidden it indefinitely so my only recourse is to turn down the sound on my pc. What a pain!!!
ETA
Ahhh - I restarted my pc and the annoying sounds are gone and the widget is gone. Let's hope they remain gone 🤞🤞🤞

Yesterday I couldn't load the website, it just sat vacant. I tried several times, and later finally got on. I knew it was the software as I had no problems with other websites. I use a PC computer tower, and with large screen monitor :)

It was slow for me yesterday (3/24/26) but it did eventually load. It doesn't seem to be happening today so far. I'm on my MacBook Pro laptop on Safari.

Yes cwillie.
At first I thought it was because my phone is getting old . But it’s worse on and off than just alittle slow from my phone.

Is the site acting wonky for anyone else? The last few days it has been slow and often won't load at all.

Margaret, if you look just below your posting, this has been happening for me for some time. I am used to it now, but it is an odd response. I post the answer. It looks like I didn't. I post again and now I have TWO answers show up, duplicating what I said. Sometimes I don't even catch it to say, "sorry; repeat".

For me, I post and it comes up in a box that appears to allow changes. But if I do change anything, it comes up as multiple posts. If I get to it quickly, I can delete and x one of the post contents, but I just don’t understand it as well!

@Geaton, This started for me days ago. About a week ago. I answer and I press post and the whole question just sits there. Then I got back to Forum, and when I look at the questions I see that it did indeed post my answer. I look down in the left hand corner now and can see some "fine print" that indicates it registered my response. But I do recall being really confused the first day that started for me. And it continues now daily. Not sure why.

I just attempted to post a response to an OP in Questions and it would not post it -- it disappeared. I'll try to post here and see what happens...

Ok, that was weird... when I went back to Questions I now see that it posted, but the site it "acting funny"...

They were gone by the time I saw CWillie’s comment.
I didn’t report the individual posts. There were several.
I sent an email and posted here. Others may have sent emails as well. I didn’t see any posts that had been replied to.

I just popped on and don't see anything so they must have dealt with it pretty quickly.

Frankly this seems more like a malicious attack than spam, and when somebody is determined to cause chaos they likely will find a way.

I just realized that when AC reinstated my account access, all my Privacy settings went back to default, which is all OFF. So I wasn't getting any public or private messages.

Everybody should check their settings in their Profile > Privacy to make sure they are still how you want them.

Looks like it is working for me now, though a bit "oddly" in that when I press on the "post" button it looks as though it isn't posting. There's a bit of a delay. Then the answer appears. Seems to be working, in any case. I'm on.

I am uncertain if I am the only one, but I am so far this a.m. unable to post answers beyond answering two questions.
I am going to assume "it's just me", and return tomorrow. Everything has been functioning so well. If we are back at square one I may be done.
Hoping this is a fluke and is only me.

Hi all,

Last week, our tech team completed work on new and improved spam filters to better protect the forum.

As many of you know, our previous spam settings unintentionally caused login and/or posting issues for some legitimate members. Those issues should now be resolved.

If you're still having trouble logging in or posting, please reach out to us directly at Moderator@aplaceformom.com so we can help.

Thank you for your patience and continued support as we work to make the forum a better experience for all.

Lylii,
The moderators have suggested we contact:
Moderator@aplaceformom
For individual help now. Most issues plaguing the site seem to be addressed, but some are still locked out.
Good luck.

Moderators:

From CaringWifeAZ posted today:

"I have been unable to participate in the Caregiver Forum since July 26th.

I have tried to post responses to questions, and they disappear. I am often prompted to log-in ( I never used to). I even tried creating a whole new profile - different screen name, different email,... and am stopped by a warning to complete the "Captcha" requirement, which I have already done, and can not do again. I'm sorry. I wish I could participate. This online forum has been so helpful to me. I even have good answers for some of the questions. But, I am not able to post any answers. I hope I will be allowed to post this question."

Later has arrived, and I am not taking a sabbatical.
I took care of today by cancelling the most frustrating DIY project, (he has lost the ability to complete it). Then, firmly telling my husband to eat his breakfast, take his b/p meds, and rest up, and watching him do it. This happens too often now. I am sad and unqualified to be his caregiver at this stage.

Geaton,
Thank you for your comment!

Lol,
Lol.
Lol,

I have disappeared for awhile before, and did not announce it.
No one noticed I was gone, and that is okay with me.

cwillie, I 100% agree... I have no expectations of what my forum experience will be. I can only control how I choose to participate. No public social media is ever going to be without problems: technology is the least of them. People are the #1 variable that ruins things like this forum.

Alva and Send, enjoy your sabaticals!
