This is day 5 for my friend in Memory Care. On the advice of MC folks, I haven't visited yet. First night rough, up most of the night. Following 2 days texted me several times, some I could understand, some I couldn't, asking to come pick her up to go home. Yesterday said she is way too active and has too much energy to be living like that, and she needs to be working NOT sitting at a table with OLD people. Think she is time shifting back to her early 60's when she retired and worked on her acreage 8 hrs a day. She hasn't worked in her yard for several years. Spoke with MC today, she is participating in group activities, eating, still up very early in morning and up during the night as she was at home. Good sign, I think. We'll see what tom. brings. :)

Awwe, you are a good friend.

I know this must be hard to not visit. Overall it sounds like she is doing well. Be thinking of why she can’t go home. Road is under construction level of limitation. Your car is in the shop. Practice answers that will most likely dissappoint her but leave her with some hope of tending her property again. I know it’s hard but what are her choices? Look up Teepa Snow on YouTube and learn how to agree with her yet distract her.
“Oh won’t that be fun to check on the fence, did you see that cherry pie I brought you? Let’s have it now! It is much kinder than telling her she will never go home.

You are a good friend. Hang in there and pace yourself after the five days so she blooms where she is now planted. I know you miss her.
