Oh, River.

I certainly hope that you will find relief soon. When our feet hurt, everything hurts!

I am able to access my profile page. Guess some Gods are looking over me as I am going mildly crazy with 3 more weeks until I get the pin out of my foot. I was starting to at least be more pain free but when I did a bit more aching set in so back to elevating it. Hope you guys get back to your profiles soon.

I'm not having connectivity problems on my laptop or on my Verizon cell phone. I'm wondering if it has to do with the widespread issues AT&T has been having today?

Llama:
I hate pressure sores. For this I say followup followup and followup and do not ignore, don't let anyone else ignore.
You all know the by now boring story of how much my bro wished to die rather than facing down the inevitabilies of his probable Lewy's diagnosis, and that he GOT that wish, and I am more and more grateful for that as the years pass and I know what his losses now would be.
BUT he died of sepsis and that of a TINY non healing wound on his shin that he mentioned to no one. What did he use? Triple antibiotic ointment, his usual getting out and walking. But it went to sepsis and MRSA, resistant to all help. One week in hospital. One back home on hospice and he was gone.
This was what he wanted.
But you DON'T. Please watch this and don't ignore as they can QUICKLY go south, causing loss of tissue much in the way a cat abscess does, silently, down under the skin, going toward the bone.
Please take good care of yourself.

Barb, what great news about hubby!

Llama ,
Glad they recommend wound care clinic . Best idea . The mattress topper sounds great too . They also have gel pads you can buy for your chair during the day .

Llama - so glad you got some good advice at the ER and that it isn't as bad as you thought - and - that you were able to sleep!

Hi Llama, I hope that advice works to solve your problem. A 3" gel mattress topper sounds pretty darn cushy and nice. Getting specialized wound care sounds good to ensure you recover fully. I've never experienced lingering pressure wounds or cellulitis, etc., but I know skin breakdown can be stubborn to treat. Feel better and heal up fast.

Send, Need, Golden, Way and Beatty: Thank you. I was able to sleep. We were seen quickly at the hospital and they said it wasn't that bad (looked like it to us). Continue A & D ointment, wear thicker bandage, see wound care clinic and add 3" gel topper to mattress.

Barb,

So happy to hear this news about your husband. I certainly hope that the worst is behind him and that you and your husband will not have any more trips to the hospital any time soon.

Way,

We get our fair share of rainfall too. I don’t like cold weather or rain! Especially, when it rains during jazz fest.

I like plants in pots. I have potted plants on the porch and the patio.

At least, snow is pretty! I’m sure that you’re sick of it though.

I am with you about the beach. I love everything about the beach except for hurricanes! My dad grew up in Florida.

We went to the beach every summer when we were kids. We took our kids throughout their childhood. We still go every so often.

Thanks, Beatty!

That’s strange that you get the kitty when you try to change it. Have you thought about contacting AgingCare to see if they can fix the problem?
