Find Care & Housing
the hepc meds notoriously wreck your appetite jean . its always been one of the worst aspects of the treatment battle . one meal every two days has always been normal for me but right now i probable need better nutrition . went from 176 lbs to 161 in 3 months .
very healthy blood numbers . cholesterol , blood pressure , liver numbers of a normal person . im not a total idiot , just lean it out too much sometimes ..

captain, 1 meals in 2 days of strenuous physical activity? Serious drugs not prescribed for you? Mixed with beer?

I'd say you'd better fire that caregiver and find someone you has your best interests at heart. How would you react if someone treated Edna that way? Heck, how would you react if someone treated Ike that way?

You've been through a tough stretch, and now the goin' is just gettin' good again. Don't blow it now, buddy!

maybe ill try foregoing all these illicit and prescribed for someone else drugs ive been chomping on . 3 tramadol , 3 zanax , and 3 beers might give a person a bad headache . i guess its worth a try ..
im pretty sure the hepc treatment is a success . aside from the dam headache my energy level is outrageous and the arm , back , and shoulder muscles keep building ..
got to start eating better . one meal every 2 days probably isnt quite enough for the amount of heavy exercise im getting .

been pouring in the wood cutting and stump grinding hours and the 26th of this month will find me and ike skinnin towards chicago again . ill take bike helmets for the grandkids this time . cook county jail dont sound like a very pleasant place to me .
im interested in taking edna for our country rides again but ill have to ask around and see who i have to kill to make this happen . i think its only been discouraged thus far to help edna settle in and accept the waters nh as her new and probably final home . me and poa are ok again . she pulled a dirty trick on me going partying with her family instead of relieving me on the preagreed upon night . it didnt work . im getting too sharp in the head to be had and realize it hours later .. i see it as its happening nowdays and will stick a wrench in your gears in a skinny minute ..

mmmmm,

i have a headache that actually put me on the ground beside my truck for 2 hours today . it wasnt dental , had all that checked out . evidently its those malingering hepc drugs . guess ill ask the va about a possible brain absess since ive had a little ear infection that hasnt really cleared up in months . i dont like to play doc but the more you can tell them about your own symptoms and history , usually the better .
ive eaten both cans of sardines and as it turns out they came from china . never again .. it is not a prejudiced or racist statement to say that chinese manufacturers will sell you deadly poisonous food , its happened all too often .
aunt edna is in nh and doing pretty well considering how late stage her dementia is . she was freezing in the hallway in her wheelchair today so i asked her if shed like to go put on her warm sweater . she said yes but she dont know what to do . i took her to her room , got her warm sweater on her then apologised to the nurse for wrecking her lunch appetite with a donut . nurse said , hon , she so far along she can eat whatever pleases her . i thought that too but didnt want to make enemies with this particular nurse . shes my age and has a nice looking behind . im evil but at least honest about it ..

Did something *really* silly today - forgot to eat. 2 BPCs (bullet proof coffee) and 1 slice of cheese this morning, and just simply wasn't hungry the rest of the day. Finally, about 5:15, I felt really woozy - dizzy and lightheaded and weak, and couldn't figure out why. (DUH!) Feeling much better now that I've had my grilled cheeseburger, salad and a little cottage cheese!

Ate alone tonight. Tuna salad melt on skinny buns and potato wedges tossed in olive oil, dill weed, parsley, and coarse salt then roasted. I made plenty of those for a future meal. Also had cookies with mini M&Ms that I made last night. Nice!

i particularily like fried potatos with the skins intact .
i eat apples in a peculiar way , speaking of lazy . i cut it in half and eat apple , skin , core , seeds and all . they are just too troublesome to peel and core to suit me ..
i think the skins are the best part of a baked potato ..

When I first married Coy his teenage daughters were used to rotating the cooking. The first time they made mashed potatoes and left the skin on I made a separate pan with peeled potatoes. I wasn't going to eat the skins just because they were lazy cooks. Ha! They were great with the skins on and I stopped peeling them myself.

But the skins interfere with mashing if you are doing it with a stand mixer or an immersion blender. I'm thinking of hunting through the stuff stored in the basement to find a potato masher. That old-fashioned non-electric tool handled the peel just fine!

i never peel potatoes .
im going to eat my boiled chicken tonight . having one or two jaw teeth removed tomorrow . at my age i still have plenty . glad they behaved till the hepc tx was over .
ednas poa is being hateful again . i was ok when i was caring for her mom for 11 months but get bent and leave it to her for a few days and im a sorry dog . its ok . ive learned when someone is screwing with you to carry on without so much as a mean look . it just burns em to the ground .
it takes practice but its a blast after you get good at it . every one in three different agencies knows whos been doing the work . i have nothing to prove to her or anyone ..
ill cook edna some apples tonight and see her before and after work as always ..

Hi Jeanne,
tonight I am doing russett ones so I will peel. When I do the red ones I leave the skin on. Funny I have never thought about leaving the skins on for mashed even though I do when I bake, fry or scallop. Has anyone ever tried the russett mashed with skins?

Enjoy the break Jeanne!! Glad you doing fine.

Dinner tonight is left over tri tip that will be cut up into cubes. I am making oven baked brown rice, when done I will add the tri tip and some sauted veggies. Since hubby doesn't like gravy...I will make gravy just for me. A salad with sunflower seeds, tomatoes, green leaf, onions and cucumber and feta cheese.
Have good evening, almost 2 pm here so got to get going on dinner.

It would have been a good day for a roast in the crock pot here. I tunred the a/c off (not that it was running) and opened all the window, and I'm thinking of pulling on a long-sleeved shirt. Nice October day.

What we are having is hamburgers. Since we weren't sure how I'd be the day after cataract removal, and since Pat is home today, we scheduled him to make his famous burgers. I know it involves beer and fresh mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoe, and Swiss cheese but I'm happy to leave the details with him. :)

(I'm doing fine. I could have pulled a dinner together, but I don't mind a little break.)

helpontheway, do you leave the skins on your potatoes?

I had my cataract removed this morning and slept all afternoon. Dinner was mystery soup from the freezer (label came off) and corn meal muffins. Mystery turned out to be Fiesta Soup (sort of a chili with Southwest flavorings). It was good to wake up to cooking fragrances as Barb took over tonight. Think I'll have some watermelon later, when I wake up to take my final eye drops of the day.

Culver's for some unneeded calories
Now that my sister and her friend left I have to resume cooking only for two. Dad was great on eating leftovers of the recipes I tried and wouldn't make again. He says the food at the assisted living place is good but he isn't a fussy eater to begin with.

Since my car is disabled I needed to make dinner with what is on hand. I had a small package of breaded shrimp, just right for the two of us. And I had some leftover fresh spinach that needed using up. I searched for a salad recipe and selected Spinach Salad with Honey Bacon Dressing from the Food website. I happen to have all ingredients on hand. It was awesome! (I'd put one more egg in it next time.)

Book, if I had a loaf of bread and some eggs, I'd have a fried egg sandwich, with ketchup. If I had a loaf of bread and cheese, I'd have a grilled cheese sandwich. If I had a tomato I'd put slices into the grilled cheese sandwich.
