We are not an employment agency. Just a forum of caregivers sharing experiences.

Call your Office of Aging to help you find an agency that can help you.

If you live in California, you can qualify for IHSS (In Home Supportive Services), or Care Partners. I know you have to have a referral from a doctor or specialist. Sorry I didn't see where you reside. I'm sure other states have similar programs. You can check with your local department of social services and they should guide you. Planning is crucial for your peace and your families as well.

Search on the internet for “home health aides in” then enter the name of your town and state or your zip code.

In my area, they charge around $32/hour and generally want a minimum of two days per week for 5 hours per day. If you need only say 2 hours per day, they will want a higher hourly rate which I understand as it’s more driving time and coordination time.

You can also try looking for help on care.com, or ask on Facebook or Nextdoor, but be careful about giving away personal information such as your address!

Also, have you considered grocery delivery, meal delivery services, Meals on Wheels, frozen food that just needs to be heated in a microwave? Or senior centers that offer daily lunch (or at least they do in my area).

Best wishes to you. Good luck.
