I'm on original Medicare. Anyone know of a reputable place that has vetted discounts specifically for seniors for things like dental care, fitness, hearing aids? So far I've checked out the Chapter Retirement app and they look trustworthy, but they also look pretty new and are still in the process of making more benefits available.
Would love tips on how to make access to these types of things easy and affordable from others who also don't have these things pre-built into their insurance plans.
Park Districts also have programs many are fee based but some are free.
If your area has a County "Forest Preserve" or "Conservation District" many of those offer opportunities to get out and meet people, get fresh air and exercise.
Some Libraries also offer many outings as well.
One thing to look into is that many of these very same programs look for Volunteers to help with the programs. So no only do you have an opportunity to do some of these things at reduced cost or possibly no cost you are meeting people and getting out and doing things you may not have done. And maybe as a Volunteer some of the other amenities may be available to use for reduced fee.
Depending on the area you live in an investment in a bike might be an option as well. Where I am we have great bike paths and the only thing preventing me is my knee!
A good place to ask questions which are financial in nature is www.bogleheads.org.
I always ask if there is a Senior discount.
