Is your brother able to ask for help in Ohio?

That would be the best route, have him talk to the social worker at the dialysis center and get things started.

Medicaid has different rules depending on the state, so what applies in TX may be totally different in OH.

His dialysis center has a Social worker on staff ( it’s a Federal regulation). Find out who the SW is and meet with them. They can provide guidance.
I have seen it before. Sure - if he is eligible and meets the requirements then yes he can be on Medicaid too.

His monthly income is a little over 2000 a month. Here in Texas if you have end stage renal disease you get Medicaid as well.
What resources are available to him. I don't want him out on the street.

You need to contact Texas health & human services. They can do an assessment and go over his finances and get him enrolled in everything he’s eligible for. Good luck!

Medicaid eligibility for health insurance is determined by his income. IF his annual income is less than $1612 then he should qualify.
