Does your mother have dementia? Who placed your mother in a nursing home? Do you have POA or guardianship or conservatorship for your Mother? Is her husband alive. We need a lot more information to be of any help at all to you. You will find overall that MOST seniors would rather live with family if this is an option, but you will also find that many taking on this 24/7 care often have little idea of all the needs it entails. Tell us more about your own situation, and your Mother's. You appear to be new to Forum. It will help us all if you fill in your profile about what brings you here.

Make sure to arrange a professional care giver to help her, so it's not all on you

Nothing in your profile indicates what is going on.
Who placed your mom in a nursing home?
Is it a Skilled Nursing Facility or is it a Memory Care Facility.
Why was she placed there?
Is your mom competent?
Who is responsible for her? Husband, State appointed Guardian? other relative?
Who is the "we" in your question? Siblings? your husband?
A bit (actually a lot) more information is really needed

To be in a NH there is criteria that needs to be met and 24/7 care needed is one of them. You need to get your ducks in a row before you take on this responsibility.

24/7 care means someone has to be with Mom all the time.

NH cannot discharge her if where she is going is not considered a "safe discharge". Your home needs to be set up for someone with your Moms challenges. Do you have a walk in shower. Safety bars on the Walls. Shower bench. Live in a rancher or at least have an extra room on the ground floor. Equipment needed for her care. Can u hire aids.

As asked, who placed her there. If a POA or guardian, nothing you can do. Does she have Dementia? If so, most people suffering from Dementia don't like it where they are and want to go home.

If there is a WE who was able to place her in a NH?
