He has Parkinson's and other issues. He cannot control his urine and currently wears an adult diaper, but does not remember to change it. He is not very active and mainly watches TV or sleeps. His hygiene is also lacking. He sometimes gets his own food, but I usually have to cook for him and remind him to eat.
This forum is for caregivers and care receivers, but it is not a place to hire anyone. You can contact your local Area Agency on Aging.
If your husband needs to be transitioned to a hirer level of care you can also start by contacting social services for your county to see if he qualifies for in-home services. At that time you may want to discuss if you want the county to acquire guardianship for him, since you seem overwhelmed and may not be his PoA (and he may not have one at all). I wish you success in getting relief and finding appropriate care for him.
Is your husband a Veteran?
If so he may qualify for some or a LOT of services from the VA. And the VA is now paying spouses to provide care as well.
So if he is a Veteran contact your local Veteran Assistance Commission office and they can help determine what services he may qualify for
Ask them for a needs assessment. This will help them help you and help you know what level of care your husband needs.
Be patient and persistent to get the help he needs, lest you fall ill from the stress and you both are up a creek.
May The Lord give you strength and guidance.
