Shes been very confused and telling everyone last night "she's ready to go home" "she's ready to see her mom again"

What a wonderful gift both for her and for her family (you) that she is ready, aware of and welcoming her eminent passing. It doesn't sound like she is in pain just looking forward to what she believes is next rather than fearing it and she seems to be preparing you all so it isn't just sprung on you. My husbands GM (103 when she passed) had very vivid dreams, every night for the couple of weeks before she passed, of traveling by train to visit every one of her kids, grand kids and great grand kids who live all over the country. She would tell my FIL (who she lived with her last 6 mos - 1 yr) every morning all about her visit with...and sometimes her adventures on the train. She even saw the country! It was a wonderful way to go and once she had visited everybody that's exactly what she did, very happy with her long and full life. It sounds to me like your Gram is doing her version of this and I can only hope I and everyone I love can pass the same way. My thoughts and heart are with you, feel good about the the ability you have provided Gran to pass in this peaceful way, surrounded by people she loves and looking forward to being surrounded by loved ones who predeceased her.

I’m sure that she is ready to go. My MIL said this too. She had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was tired of fighting. She beat it once, was in remission for 5 years. It returned with a vengeance.

They get tired. They are ready for an end and have made peace with it. If the hospice workers say that it won’t be long then most likely her time is short but who knows exactly when that time is.

So sorry that your grandma is going through this. You’re a lovely granddaughter to care for her. I saw in your profile she is only 66. My MIL was 68. That’s young, isn’t it?

You will miss her but she will live in your heart forever. God bless you both.

It really depends on the person. My Granny held on until her birthday. She was not conscious the last 2 days, but she died about 2 hours after midnight on her birthday.

My step Dad hung on for a couple days after his birthday. It was clear the last few hours that he would not make it until morning.

I don't think anyone can really tell you that.

I am sorry that you are losing your gram. I pray that she has a peaceful passing.
