Barbara, I would suggest calling a good local nursing home and ask them what transport company(s) they use. At Moms NH the transport vans came and went constantly to appointments with people on beds or on wheelchairs.

What sort of test does bedridden mom need? Does the doctor ordering these realize that she is bedridden?

Will treatment be different depending on the results of the test? How will you get her to treatment?

She has to get her kidney function tested and see her stomach doctor about her colitis.

You can hire a medical transport van. They will wheel her out of your residence and get her onto a rear lift and into the van. Then you can either drive with them or behind them in your own vehicle. They will require an advance reservation and probably payment up front.

I've done this with my 85-yo MIL who weighs 180 lbs and can't transfer herself into or out of a vehicle. Works fine. Don't worry about the incontinence thing...doctors and nurses there can help you if necessary, plus they've seen it all.
