I had to cut down my hours at work to care for my elderly mother after she fractured her back. Now we are like 5 months behind on rent and may be evicted soon. Are there any agencies that can help us?

Find Care & Housing
Welcome, Joseph!

You need to apply for Medicaid for your mom. She either needs to hire caregivers or reside in a facility.

You need to go back to work. Quitting to take care of mom is unsustainable, as you have seen. Please see the post below:

Good advice from Barb. You can also contact your local Council on Aging and ask for a needs assessment for mom and for any other services or referrals they may offer. Please go back to full time work and guard your future. I wish you the best

Contact social services (Dept of Health Services) for your county and talk to a social worker for a needs assessment.

For rent help, go to your Social Services and see if they can help you with rent money. While there, ask if there are resources for Mom so you can get back to work.

As said, you may have to place Mom with Medicaid paying. Social Services can help u with that.
